So I came across this article on Gawker and it really reminded me of our last two class discussions surrounding the idea that women are to be looked at, rather than revered for their intellect. The article is interesting in that in this particular case a woman is being honored for her intellectual qualities, but does an added comment on her looks by the president himself in someway negate or ridicule them.
P.S The best part of Gawker is usually the user comments. Not only are they usually entertaining, but they provide some interesting stances on both sides of the argument.
